Welcome to the Regional Festivals and Events Toolkit.

It is designed for people in the North East who currently organise festivals and events, or who are thinking of setting up new activity and aims to provide practical information and guidance. Festivals and events are very important to the region as they can utilise the strengths of the region's cultural base and can promote positive messages to our visitors. They also provide the local population with opportunities for economic and social growth.

The Toolkit consists of two areas:

Strategy documents: This gives you the opportunity to see the latest thinking on the role that festivals and events play in the North East and how the three sectors, public, private and voluntary, can get involved.

Information Sheets: This section includes up-to-date advice and guidance on a wide range of issues that festival and event organisers must be aware of. The sheets can be read on-line or can be printed off for practical use. Some of the sheets can be used as checklists.
