Tourism Network North East

Tourism Network North East is made up of five independent organisations: One North East Tourism, a regional team based within the Regional Development Agency, and four Area Tourism Partnerships or ATPs. The four ATPs are:

  • Northumberland Tourism
  • Tourism Tyne and Wear
  • County Durham Tourism Partnership
  • visitTeesvalley

Tourism Network North East is recognised as the official tourism support process for North East England by Government, VisitBritain, VisitEngland, tourism businesses and all the region's Local Authorities.

In addition, the Area Tourism Partnerships (ATPs) are recognised by Business Link as Business Collaboration Networks.  This will enable ATPs and Business Link to provide a more streamlined and joined up service to support the region's tourism businesses.

Although independent, the five organisations know it makes sense to work with each other, as well as with a range of partners, to promote tourism in the region and to make it easier for tourism businesses to access research, training, business advice and marketing opportunities.

The Network aims to reduce duplication and foster joint working so that shared expertise, information and best practice can deliver even greater results.

By bringing together businesses and public agencies the Network provides tourism businesses with the chance to influence tourism development and marketing both regionally and locally, ensuring that public funds support projects that really make a difference.
