Business Support

In the last two years (2008/09) there were no less than 174 separate engagement activities giving businesses in Tyne and Wear at least 2 hours support. 

This support is delivered in a number of ways and works to equip tourism businesses with the tools and skills they need to communicate within the sector and grow their companies within the tourism industry. Most of this support comes through appointments with our Business Relationship Manager Paul Szomoru.

One-to-one meetings offer support in a number of forms including, but not restricted to help and advice on using Desti.ne, information on how to get quality assessed and information on how the Lynn Jones occupancy survey can help businesses stay up to date with market information.

The appointments also allow the Business Relationship team to direct businesses with specific needs to Business Link for additional financial and specialised support.

The programme of support provided by Tourism Tyne and Wear has been delivered through a number of schemes and events with funding support from One North East.
