Discover Pass
To help residents and visitors make the most of attractions across Tyne and Wear the Discover Pass was launched in 2008 offering a range of discounts and offers at some of our top attractions.
The pass has been marketed online, in the local press through advertising and PR activity with journalists, on local radio station Real Radio and on local transport networks encouraging visitors to explore Tyne and Wear and benefit from discounts at attractions across the whole destination.
The Discover Pass can be purchased from Tourist Information Centres, and since 2009, online from our visitor website
Get out and Active
The coast and countryside has been featured in a highly visible in region marketing campaign showcasing to visitors in NewcastleGateshead the activities and experiences available just minutes outside of the city centre.
Striking advertisements have featured on public transport, promotional post cards, and as images to accompany features in the Yorkshire Post, Scotsman and the local press. The marketing activity was also complimented by media visits themed around the outdoor experiences and activities like climbing and surfing. The campaign was aimed at day visitors, those staying overnight in the city and local residents.
